  • Summary Description

    Dinophysis norvegica is a variable species. Cells are medium-sized to large, 48-80 µm long, 38-70 µm wide (dorso-ventrally), more or less asymmetric, laterally flattened, and widest at or slightly above the middle. The posterior end is pointed at an angle of mostly less than 90 degrees. Toxic, causes diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP).
