  • Summary Description

    Ulva lactuca is a pale to grass green macroalga that grows to 50 cm tall. The plant is attached to the substratum by a small disc-shaped holdfast that divides shortly above the base into numerous elongate branches a few centimetres wide, and ruffled along the edge. The branches are thicker and paler in the centre, thinning out towards the margins.
